He was not the most strategic player in this game but had an amazing 5 Challenge wins when he needed it. I thought Susie gave a better Jury performance. With that bitter Jury. I guess there was not much doubt that the Kota4 would never vote for Sugar or Susie. Also Sugar sort of shot herself in the foot with the Fang by saying she was not in an alliance with anybody until she allied with Bob on Final Four vote out. You could see Matty's surprise at that statement and I am guessing Crystal & Kenny voted for Susie to spite Sugar. Sugar played a very emotional game and blindsiding Matty was wrong. I know she wanted to face both Bob & Matty in the Finale but Susie won the Final Immunity fair and square. Rather than vote off Bob she made it a tie and left it to "fate". Bob the outdoorsy-loving builder vs laid-back surfer dude, Matty - in a fire-building tie-breaker! Come on, there is no way Matty had a chance of winning that! Especially with Bob practicing his fire-making beforehand! I knew Randy would be bitter and Corrine was going to go off on Sugar. Really shocked by Marcus's question. I just could not see why he was acting so superior to the three in the finale. Susie saw through his bullshit and got two Immunity wins and a place before the Jury. She was underestimated and should be a role model for her son & students. Plus she had not voted for his ouster. Neither did Bob and it was more about Crystal saving Kenny than Sugar's vote. Sugar was not even in his alliance and owed Marcus nothing. Marcus seemed to assume he was entitled to a seat before the Jury rather than being out-played by Susie, Sugar and Bob Last Edited By: richardca 12/15/08 07:02 AM. Edited 1 time.

How long will it take Survivor contestants to figure out they darn well better know how to get one going?!!? I was surprised Susie got so many votes and Sugar got none, but I really think the jury included some of the most emotionally immature people we've seen on Survivor in quite some time. Crystal (at least according to the Ponderosa videos) attempted to let bygones be bygones w/the rest of the jury but they were unspeakably rude and toddler like. Corrine's comment to Sugar at TC was also appalling. She thinks she's all that - but I have a feeling a boss somewhere in her future is going to put her in her place if she acts like that all the time. I am not disappointed Susie made it to final 3 - she really did beat the odds when the tribes were merged. However, I'm also glad she didn't win because I loved how Bob and Sugar really played the heck out of this game. Bob's ingenuity and Sugar's strategizing were perfect. I was actually glad Sugar forced the tie for final 3. It leveled the playing field - she saved Matty once and then she turned around and gave Bob the chance to save himself. Marcus - well, let's just say I'm glad he wasn't on the other side of the fire at TC.

Those five challenge wins in a row will likely stand for quite awhile as a Survivor record. Not a fan of Susie. I know that she is a nice person and all...but I want my Survivor winner to win by manipulating and strategizing and thinking and blindsiding and PLAYING the game. I liked Sugar because she was entertaining--then I found out that her ONLY strategy was to be entertaining--and now I like Sugar--not quite so much. * * * * * * * I have a new drinking game I propose (even though I do not drink) for the Survivor Memorial to the Fallen--or whatever they call that tribute procession past reminders of all the losers--and for the Reunion show as well. You must take a drink every time one of them gives a speech about "this changed my life" or "I wanted to prove something to myself/my students/my son", or "This experience taught me that NOW I can do anything" and "This experience made me appreciate all of those things in life that we take for granted". Methinks one would need a BIG bottle!!!

It is not to play for 2nd Place or 3rd Place - which seems to have been what Sugar was playing for. If Sugar was playing to win Survivor she would have voted Bob out at F4. After-all, Bob was part of the "evil" Onion Alliance! He had even tried to save Corrine at F7. Can you imagine Corrine in F3? She even said she would have voted out Bob to get into the F3 and then probably would have "expected" Bob to vote for her. Against Crystal & Kenny, Bob just might have "crowned" Corrine the winner. UGH! Then again Sugar should have also gone along with voting Matty out at F6 or F5. Up against Susie & Kenny she might have just "won". Sigh! Sugar just never seemed to be that "strategic"! She was more entertaining that anything else and that seemed to the whole point of her game. She got her 15 minutes of fame and maybe more. Susie seemed just as nice as Bob. Susie turned against the "Onion" alliance because she knew she would never get better than 6th place with them. Bob never got that! Jacquie got replaced by Randy and Bob never moved up in that Alliance. Marcus even offered up Bob's spot (6th place) to Crystal to save himself and still Bob stayed loyal to the "Onion" alliance. Only winning those five Challenges kept the last "Onion" in the game. It was the four bitter "Onions" on the Jury that gave him the victory. That does not mean that he did not play a better social game than Sugar and Susie. I just think Bob started playing the game late into the game. He made a better winner than any of the four "Onion" Alliance Jury members, Crystal, Kenny or Sugar. Not sure about Susie but Matty definitely Outlasted everybody at Fang and maybe deserved a better Fate..... Last Edited By: richardca 12/16/08 11:17 AM. Edited 1 times.
