Well, I learned Wednesday evening that I am now officially an "ole geezer"!!! There can be no more excuses--no denial--I am not
only "over the hill"--I have gone "out to pasture".
What event precipitated this revelation? It was the damn Grammy Nomination Show on CBS. I wasn't really watching the show, but it was on while I was working on a computer project--and while I kept glancing over at the "singers" I felt that I surely would recognize and enjoy some of them--YIKES!!!!! I did not know one of the entertainers. I guess that I had heard one or two of their names in some context at one time or another, but I could not recognize nor name a single song. Actually, when the rappers are doing whatever they do, I cannot even recognize their efforts as music--but whatever...
I finally understand my father's inability to understand and appreciate the genius of The Beatles.
By the way, I am actually listening to my IPod as I compose these thoughts...enjoying The Moody Blues, The Doors, and an audiobook mystery. Thank goodness I can take advantage of the young-uns technology without becoming a hostage to their questionable music preferences.
