This group has fallen into a very non-competitive "team spirit" approach that is doomed to fail because there is no prize for "best alliance" or "most loyal hamster" or "best team player". There is only one cash prize to the last person standing and all others must be "thrown under the bus" at some point. Big Brother has given the Head of Household a lot of power with the duty to nominate players for eviction, but these fools have extended that power to mean that everyone is obligated to expel the person of the HOH's choice. This week there is a lot of desire to rid the house of Jesse while they have the chance, but the "house" has decided to honor Keesha's wish to evict Angie. This makes no sense to me... Jerry has openly stated that he has no use for Jesse...but his hands are tied because Keesha wants Angie out... Ollie has told Angie that he would love for her to stay...but his hands are tied because he has to vote with the "house" Dan has confided to Angie that he would love to help her stay...but his hands are tied because "the house" has made a different decision Renny has been openly at war with Jesse since Day One...but she cannot vote to evict him because her pal Keesha has decided that "the house" will evict Angie That's four votes...enough to force a tie...which does not help Angie with Keesha breaking the tie, but if Angie could just get Memphis or Libra to join, that would give five votes--enough to evict the body-builder/poser/egomaniac Jesse... In any other season, this would be the perfect conditions for a small revolt, sending the "pawn" packing and keeping the original target of the HOH... But in this strange season, none of the ~~houseguests~~ ~~hamsters~~ lemmings will act in his/her own best interest, choosing instead to vote as a group to validate the HOH choice. Don't these ~~people~~ fools realize that there certainly IS something they can do...They can cast an individual vote and let the chips fall where they may. Most lemmings will stop when they come to a cliff and if they do get pushed off that cliff they know how to swim. Some do have a lousy sense of direction and been known to swim in the wrong direction and drown from exhaustion. I just do not think they are as dumb as some of the Hamsters they put in the BB House. As for the HGs, Dan did vote against the majority. As the temp AMERICA'S PLAYER, Dan, has gotten Jesse nominated; hugged Jesse and told both factions that he is voting both Jessie/Memphis off. As the swing vote he is about to stab one alliance and become the fifth wheel in his new alliance. Prior to this week, the House already thought Dan was acting suspicious and some already think he is this year's AMERICA'S PLAYER. Now for $20,000, he is going to shoot himself in the foot and commit Hamster suicide by proving, like Eric, that he cannot be trusted. Then again the voters in AMERICA'S PLAYER saved EvelDick from certain eviction last year so maybe the real Lemmings are outside voting as Allison wants.

But accepting the fact that real lemmings do not really commit mass suicide, the word "lemmings" has certainly become an accepted and widely used metaphor for persons who blindly follow "the crowd" even to their own detriment. Since everyone understands that metaphorical use of "lemmings", I'll continue to use it when describing this mob mentality of the housemates to blindly follow the HOH leader. Thursday's eviction is shaping up to be a doozy, with April, Ollie, Jerry and Michelle getting gobsmacked by the blindside eviction of the Iowa muscle~~man~~head. I don't know who will be most upset--Michelle will lose her closet ally/confidante/snugglebuddy, April will feel hugely "disrespected" when her HOH desires are not followed, and Jerry will be furious that his enemy Memphis escaped to live another week. BUT...Everything swings on Dan's vote. The vote appears to be set up to be along a clear 3-3 house division, and Dan will make it 4-3 but both sides are depending on his loyalty. I truly hope that he can keep up this suspense until the actual vote, because it is fun to watch Jerry/April/Ollie/Jessie and Michelle gloating that Keesha/Renny/Libra are powerless because they (Jesse's friends) have the votes. Dan has sworn on the bible at least twice to vote with the girls to keep Memphis, but he is America's player, and that might not play out. So far, America has instructed him to nominate Jesse, and even to hug Jesse, and I think he is assuming that America will continue that trend and instruct him to send Jesse out to meet Julie Chen on Thursday...but what if America (and Alison Grodner) change the vote and tell him he must vote to keep Jesse...Then everything will be turned crazy for the ladies' alliance and all hell will break loose. I can't wait.

I sincerely hope Dan is able to stick w/his alliance. He's been a good sport throughout the game, even when nominated, and I'd much rather watch him and Memphis than listen to Jessie! It will also be fun to see two groups emerge, as long as they keep up as they have been. There hasn't been terrible bashing by the newly minted alliance (actually - not much at all), so I hope April/Ollie/Michelle/Jerry avoid that trap as well.

I wonder if there's a way of programming that post to appear automatically every few days. It's just about all I can think of to say, when I see the latest updates of who's in an alliance with whom, who's getting betrayed by whom, who's whining, who's about to get the boot, et cetera, et cetera. I once said it was like watching a bunch of kids play King of the Mountain--well, this time around one of the kids is 76 years old. And that Dan character, he sounds like a hoot on wheels. Are April and Ollie still giving you pay-per-view porn on the live feeds every night? All I can say is, it's astonishing that this racket keeps on going. Incidentally, this note is coming to you live from the Avalon Nudist Resort in West Virginia where the annual music fest will be beginning shortly. You should all try nudism some time, if you can take break from watching the exhibitionists in the "Big Brother" house.
